Simplify brand design consultancy was established more than 20 years ago by Neil Quiddington and Peter Ward. Having worked in the industry throughout their professional lives, Neil and Peter have proven expertise in all aspects of brand development, graphic design, illustration and advertising. Their combination of skills and experience adds insight and innovation to brand and communication solutions across the full range of traditional and electronic media.
Neil’s extensive experience and knowledge of everything branding has been honed through 20 years in the design industry. As well as working as a designer for major branding companies in London he has also freelanced as an art director in the USA.
In 1999, together with Peter Ward, Neil founded four-letter word design consultants to support clients with specialised brand creative services. 20 years on, and with the agency itself now rebranded as Simplify, Neil continues to help clients transform their businesses with the development of powerful and effective brand communications.
Neil has recently helped develop branded visual identity programmes for companies including National Grid, Hoodless Brennan, Buzzacott and Persianas.
A founder and creative partner at Simplify, Peter studied illustration at Bristol College of Art before starting his career as a freelance illustrator. In the late 1980s he moved to London to take up a position as designer and art director with Progress Advertising. He soon moved to Revolution as a creative director, where he developed brands for companies such as Cable and Wireless, Marks and Spencer, BAA and Lloyds of London.
In 1999, together with Neil Quiddington, Peter founded four-letter word design consultants, which subsequently rebranded as Simplify. Today, his creative flair is used to great effect in originating and developing highly targeted brand solutions for clients in the UK and overseas.
Stephen has the specialised ability to interpret two dimensional brand concepts and values in a three dimensional space. As such, his skills are used to great effect in environments ranging from exhibitions and showrooms to offices, hospitality and retail outlets.
Stephen followed a freelance path from graduation and has worked with many prominent design companies including Imagination, Landor, Tonik and Path. In 2001 he formed Quiddington Revell, a creative partnership with colleague Sean Revell (formerly of Land Design). Together they have been involved with many high profile projects in the commercial and hospitality sectors and designed interiors for restaurants, offices, museums and public spaces.
Mike graduated with a BA (Hons) in Design, Media and Management and is currently studying for an MSc in Digital Marketing Communications. He is a member of the Institute of Direct and Digital Marketing.
Over the years Mike has worked in both B2B and B2C in a range of marketing and communications roles and, since 1999, as a successful marketing consultant. Today his clients encompass the energy, retail, leisure, e-commerce, professional services, museums and government sectors.
Mike’s belief is that working with a diverse range of clients provides a cross-fertilisation of ideas essential to the creation of engaging marketing communications. He has extensive experience of using both digital and traditional media and is applying this to innovate developments in location marketing.
Gillian has been a marketing professional for 24 years on both the client and consultancy side and has worked at director level in a wide variety of sectors. With an Honors Degree in Business Studies and as a Chartered Marketer, Gillian advises on all aspects of marketing strategy, branding and business development.
The growth of digital media is transforming the way people communicate. Gillian has been instrumental in keeping Simplify’s clients at the forefront of these changes by helping them apply industry best practice regardless of the size of the organisation or budget.
